Whenever we meet the deadline, we will always be very nervous that we could not complete. However taking a step back: assess the situation clearly, plan out the schedules and communicate with your clients. You need transparency in this way to gain trust to the clients that you are trying to rectify the situation. Show client how are you going to handle this and suggest future plans to prevent the same thing from happening.

Deadlines can be the bane of the profession. You need to proactively deal with all parties concerned and keep communication lines open. This can be exacerbated when you deal with global businesses and demand that work be open 24/7 during these periods. My previous employer worked on a 3 day close globally monthly which necessitated some very long evenings into days. It becomes imperative that everyone concerned understands this and that you be available to assist wherever you can. Keeping the global team together and pointed in the right direction ALL the time (and not just for close) is a great helper. You need to understand each person involved and work with them in a manner they can understand.
