As an internal coach, the distractions are all the other apps, notifications and inboxes fighting for my attention and time. When possible I use a non-work laptop when coaching so they are not in my periphery. I also find audio only with a notebook focuses my attention on the call. But ultimately it’s about being ethical with the time you have set aside (you wouldn’t want your dentist checking Teams messages during your appointment), contracting that you both agree to put everything into ‘aircraft mode’ (not just your phone) and setting yourself boundaries that you adhere to.
