Dealing with a client's changing demands during negotiation. Can you maintain your emotional intelligence?
Negotiations with clients often feel like navigating a maze; one wrong turn and you might find yourself at a dead end. But when you're armed with emotional intelligence (EI), you have a map that helps you understand and manage your emotions and those of your client. EI is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage our own emotions and to recognize, understand, and influence the emotions of others. In the context of negotiations, maintaining EI can be the difference between a successful outcome and a breakdown in communication.
