In my early days of coaching, I partnered with a new entrepreneur who was skeptical of my strategies. It was clear that trust was lacking. I realized that if I wanted to build a successful collaboration, I had to open up the communication channels first. So, I set up a weekly check-in, where we could freely discuss concerns, wins, and roadblocks. I didn't shy away from tough conversations, sharing my thought process and inviting feedback. As we maintained this open dialogue, trust naturally grew. That experience taught me that the best way to break down walls is through transparent, honest conversations. Trust isn’t built overnight, but creating a safe space for open communication is a strong foundation.

Trust can be tricky when working with a new partner, and I’ve experienced this firsthand. Start small by collaborating on limited projects to build trust gradually. Transparency is crucial—share expectations and keep communication open. I also drafted clear contracts that outlined each party’s responsibilities and deliverables. This not only provided legal protection but also helped set clear boundaries and trust as we worked toward a shared goal.
