Since other answers cover personal time management, I'll share some heuristics: Don't fall into the trap of taking on the "low-hanging fruit." Break down your most difficult problems into manageable chunks and tackle the hardest problems first. Prioritizing low-effort and low-impact tasks practically ensures that you must sacrifice personal time to rush the harder tasks. Also, say no and delegate when your expertise is not needed/applicable to some of the things you are being asked to do. If you don't have the right skill set to tackle a task, you will inevitably take longer to do it than someone else who does. TLDR: find the right people to do the things you don't know how to do, and get the hardest problems out of the way first.
