This understanding can lead to more informed decisions that respect both usability and technical constraints. Incorporate Usability Testing Early: Involving usability testers in the early stages of development allows for user feedback to be integrated into the design process from the start, rather than waiting until after the development phase. Prioritize User-Centric Goals: Establish shared objectives that emphasize user experience while also considering the technical feasibility. This ensures that both teams are aligned towards a common goal.

Communication is the key and it can ensure that developers and testers always remain on the same page. Testers need to explain the possible real-world user scenarios of the application to the developers. They need to make the developers realize that even a small usability issue can potentially lead to a negative user experience. Its also important for the QAs to involve business analysts or even some customer representatives during some of the discussions. They can further explain some usability scenarios to both the developers and the QAs.

One thing I found useful is the idea of bringing developers and usability testers together in workshops. This helps them understand each other better and avoid problems later. However, I disagree—if teams don’t keep testing and pushing for what users need, they might focus more on what’s easier to build rather than what’s actually useful. This can lead to products that work technically but don’t give users the best experience.

Developers have their challenges and Usability testers have their own, the same goes for their priorities. ??Now what you can do | Prescription : 1. User and business needs should be the priority. 2. Collaboration on ideation with developers, collaboration here means bringing a cross-functional approach to the table, helping in designing a functional and user-centered product. 4. Build a user-centered design approach for developers. 3. Involving the dev will bring design maturity to the whole team. Expected Results: 1. Devs understand the importance of usability. 2. Also, use analytics, heatmaps, and user feedback to support usability recommendations with tangible data. Lastly, Provide actionable, well-documented usability reports with clear, prioritized issues to make fixes manageable.
