1 Be prepared

If you have been in the workforce for some time. Listen and do not judge. Be open to new ideas and ways of conducting business. Connect with your new coworker on a personal level. Then, after you are comfortable with them, and they are comfortable with you, start to suggest new processes that you feel are an improvement.

2 Be punctual

One of the easiest ways to make a bad impression on your boss is to be late, especially on your first day. Being punctual shows that you respect your boss’s time, that you are reliable, and that you can manage your schedule. Plan ahead for any potential delays, such as traffic, weather, or security checks. Arrive at least 15 minutes early, and check in with your boss or the receptionist.
