You’ve just been promoted to a leadership role. How will you adapt to the new responsibilities?

Communicating your goals and vision might not be first thing to do. You were promoted to a leadership role, definitely there will be a vision and mission they also follow as a team. So what to do is to ask for the mission and vision of the team, check them out and work on how your vision and mission will align with that of the team so that the goal of the team can be achieved. Then you will communicate with other members of the team on what you need to have or know about the team of an easy ride.

To help you quickly adapt to your new leadership role consider the leadership vision that you're now a part of, and spend time understanding your role in communication. The clearer you are on how you fit into the narrative, the better you will be able to communicate the needs of your teams and stakeholders, and provide guidance towards achieving organisational goals.

Yes. I agree with this. But in my own perspective, before a leader can delegate work to the team members, He/she must also be seen as someone that's not putting all tasks on them in the name of delegating. If a leader want to delegate works to the team members, He/she must also serves as an example by not just wailing away time. Also when a leader delegate work to the team members, checking up go a long way. Some members might not be getting it and it might be hard for them to be the first to open up so checking in and asking questions on the process can help the member to ask questions.

Teammates rally behind leaders that present a clear roadmap amd project a clear vision into the next 20 years timeline from college to S-corp. Young people that start companies between 19 and 22 need to realize that it's not really possible to win without support from their communities. People won't buy from you unless you stick to the gameplan, and pivot as needed.

In your newly promoted role as a leader it's important for you to understand the roles and responsibilities of you and your team. Take stock of team members skills and capabilities, and then assess performance. This will help you create development plans that are meaningful and progressive.

Being promoted into a new leadership position means that your emotional intelligence will be tested and you too, will grow in this role. People will of course feel uncertain about what you stand for and who you are. It will be essential for you to focus on building trust with all your stakeholders in your new position.

In your new leadership role you'll need to rediscover balancing your work priorities and your life beyond of work. This will take some time, so I encourage you to foster patience, self compassion, and communicate with honesty. Strong leaders build and learn into their support systems, they also know that asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, but one of trust and empowerment.
