It will be unfortunate if one is laid off, but the market is competitive and good & bad times are part of life journey. It is always good to have a back up or plan B. It helps if you are active in networking, attending events, open to learn. At the tougher time, it can help you in two parts - either you can open your own IT boutique as you come from that experience or you can also be a good advisor to start up's. Personal relationships are key , they help you a lot in both personal and professional space.

This has never happened to me, but I think I would have tried to identify what I could offer that differentiated me from my competitors. You probably just have to choose: it could be an innovative approach to problem solving, a specialization in a particular industry, or a personalized service that addresses specific customer needs. And then, looking back on how I have worked so far, I would focus on providing a high-quality IT consultancy service and meeting client needs in a timely and efficient manner. Customer satisfaction is critical to the long-term success of a business.
