Any relation you have - the fundamental basic is build on trust. Once you find a mentor learn from them and try to put as much effort as humanly possible. In the beginning just try to learn and provide your value for free. This quality will obviously will build trust.

Nowadays its easy to learn from the person you want, Directly it is sometimes difficult but fortunately you can still learn from people indirectly by using social media. All the highly successful people nowadays use social media for eg: YouTube, LinkedIn or Twitter - these platforms give you the opportunity to learn and know about the person you look upto - so use your social media for your advantage.
