I'm analysing the current status of the cost of services by reviewing if services and status are needed. The next step is reviewing the operation mode, and that configuration could be the module change to reduce cost. If possible, removing and reducing services and implementers cost-free or less the current ones. Automated any possible functionality, i.e., manual mobile phone configuration, was changed to 90% automated, which reduced time and allowed teams to concentrate on other systems.

Review the current resource usage, manual operations, and observability implementation. Clean up the unused resources, automate the operations as much as possible, and also implement observability. Start with a small or necessary capacity of resources and use the scalability features that are available in your IT infrastructure - Horizontal / Vertical Autoscaling, Expandable Storage based on usage, Serverless Implementations, and implement auto-healing of repeated tasks using automation tools.

"Do more with less." ?? Adopt a Pay-as-You-Go Cloud Model – Scale resources dynamically to match demand, avoiding upfront costs. ?? Prioritize Microservices Architecture – Break down monoliths for modular scaling without overhauling entire systems. ?? Utilize Open-Source Tools – Cut licensing costs by leveraging community-backed solutions for monitoring, automation, and security. ?? Apply Load Forecasting Analytics – Use AI-driven predictions to scale resources only when necessary. ?? Embrace Containerization – Deploy lightweight, portable containers (Docker, Kubernetes) for efficient resource utilization. ?? Automate Infrastructure Management (IaC) – Streamline deployments and reduce manual errors with Terraform or Ansible.

Working with a tight IT budget means I must optimize every dollar: I start by assessing our current infrastructure to pinpoint cost-effective performance boosts, then leverage cloud services—which data shows can cut costs by around 25%—to ensure resources scale with our needs, and finally, I implement automation to streamline routine tasks and free up valuable resources for growth.

When working with a tight IT budget, you need to focus on optimizing existing infrastructure first, making sure we maximize performance without unnecessary spending. Automation plays a key role in reducing manual effort and streamlining operations, allowing resources to be used more effectively. Instead of over-provisioning, you need to rely on monitoring and analytics to scale only when needed. Finally, when I have such of case I try prioritize spending on critical areas that directly impact operations, ensuring we maintain stability while planning for future growth.
