Based on your need such as data retrieval frequency and data usage, one may select appropriate cloud service for data backup (e.g. AWS glacier or S3 based on frequency of use of data and retrieval rate) Although, you will need cloud architect to manage these services as security and cost management needs a domain expert to avoid any data breach or loss

There is no single best practice for backups. Cloud solutions are easy to use, easy to get going, decently secure, and require no added hardware. However, at a 1.5 TB point, it might be more cost effective to move to a tape backup solution, if the data is on-prem, and use a service for offsite DR. Backups are not just destinations. It is choosing what to back up, how often, who has access to backups, where they are stored (for local backups, a MinIO cluster is excellent at providing security with S3 object locking), and overall costs. The ideal is a 3-2-1-1-0 solution. Having a local copy on something like MinIO or another server that has object locking can greatly help with restore performance, all the while giving tamper resistance.

2 External Drive Backup

External drive backup is another common and simple option for data backup, as it involves copying your data to a physical device, such as a USB flash drive, a hard disk drive, or a solid state drive. External drive backup is ideal for projects that require high-speed data transfer, offline access, or portability. Therefore, you should always keep your external drive in a safe place, scan it for viruses, and update it regularly.
