These applications facilitate the management of key operational tasks and challenges that may arise during operations. Many of these systems are capable of identifying trends and performing in-depth analysis. However, the core data infrastructure primarily resides in Distributed Control Systems (DCS), with remote access to this data made possible through systems like Aveva PI and other comparable software solutions and services.

Digital assets security is also very important. As it was with the implementation of HSE standards, the O&G industry needs to expand its safety and security to its digital resources. NIST in the US can be used as guidelines for cybersecurity. Same as other global and local standards as ISO 27001, HIPPA, CPI. Implementing an integrated platform with the business OT (Operations Technology) and the IT segments to create a strong cybersecurity team to protect, and given the case, detect, contain, reject, and recover from a digital security breach or a cyberattack. Management of SCADA, and implementation of IDS / IRS will reflect in a correct monitoring of the IIot network, especially of the end points located in the field.
