It can feel a like a lot to go from this huge project with everyone feeling their part is the most important part. Understand what is the most important deliverables for the customer. That should be your north start in how to build out your objectives and deliverables. Then know who your internal champions are and who are going to be in the kitchen. You never want too many cooks in the kitchen, identifying the key players will be instrumental when making decisions, supporting one another, etc.

The seeming availability of excess time due to the long term nature of certain projects can be detrimental to the successful and timely completion of projects as it can elicit procrastination and laziness. Unless the progress of the project is tracked and kept under check in regular intervals, there is ample possibility that it might go off-track. Several tools and techniques are available today, but the most efficient of them all could be the Gantt chart. The proper usage of the same will provide an overview on the available timeline of the project, the subtasks involved, deadline for each task, and also the expected duration for each task. This way, all stakeholders can stay on the same page with regard to keeping the project on track.

Finally, don't forget to celebrate your achievements along the way. Completing a long-term project can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience, but it can also be stressful and exhausting.
