However, overall I found the lack of control over what slots I have available very challenging. I also found to difficult to keep track of who had booked into calls and often missed out on candidates that had not responded to the link. Overall I ended up reverting to suggesting slots myself as it gave me more flexibility and allowed me to book calls on a case-by-case basis depending on key factors such as urgency which in cases may need me to rearrange a slot I might normally reserve for admin etc in order to hit deadlines.

Trial & error. I personally found that Microsoft bookings works well, particularly as it syncs with Microsoft office. You can automatically input different types of meetings (In-person, Video, Phone) and the address or teams link is automatically sent with reminders.

Especially within the first 30-90 days of use, it's important that everyone on the team is properly trained. Scheduling candidates when we do not have a Recruiting Coordinator support all the time is a tedious task for any Recruiter: Here is what I think are the best practices to keep things moving fast: 1. Placeholders - Yes, you heard it right. Block placeholders by taking availability from the panel and candidate and loop your RA. This will take an extra cent from the Recruiter, but trust me, things will really move fast. 2. Tools - WhatsApp bot can be really helpful to reach out to candidates to take their availability, rather than calling one by one which could be... Urghh! 3. Don’t completely dismiss the ‘old-fashioned’ way of scheduling interviews. In an increasingly impersonal and automated world, the human contact of a phone call can go a long way. If a call is not possible (bear in mind booking in an interview by phone can easily take less than 5 minutes) then a personalized text, WhatsApp or email can go a long way. What’s the point of scheduling in a high volume of interviews if the candidates don’t even feel engaged in the process? Beware of the potential pitfalls of convenience and cutting corners
