Mornings: Early bird gets the accounts, baby! Love that quiet sniping time. Database updates – gotta keep that info fresh for the win. iPad notes are my jam. Achieving work-life balance as a Technical Sales professional can be challenging due to the demanding nature of the role. However, it's essential to prioritize your well-being and maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.

Knowing yourself means understanding your strengths, weaknesses, values, and priorities. This awareness helps you align your goals with your abilities and aspirations realistically.

First, qualify the task before agreeing to it. - Listen to the request. - Ask questions to gain a good understanding of the client's situation, the depth and quality of the discovery information, and the client's buying stage. - Say: "Let me check my calendar, and I'll get back to you tomorrow". - Use the time to consider if a demo is the right next step and if you have all the needed information - Get back to your sales colleague with your decision. The time out will help you think about the consequences for your work-life balance. If you don't want to do it, prepare your response to your colleague. After the time out, it will be easier to suggest an alternative action if you don't want to do it.

Um exemplo típico de todo profissional que tem “gana pelo trabalho” assim como eu é de nunca se desligar totalmente do trabalho ou de assuntos pessoais fazendo com que seu horário comercial seja muitas vezes confuso com tantas informa??es e também que seu final de semana nunca seja 100% aproveitado ao lado da família! Establish clear boundaries between work and personal life. Define specific work hours and designate time for relaxation, family, hobbies, and self-care. Communicate these boundaries to your colleagues, clients, and supervisors to manage expectations.

There is a tendency, I think in decline, to romanticise stress, overwork and disrespect for free time. I think we are beginning to realise that these signs do not indicate productivity, quite the opposite. If you are not able to finish your work within working hours, it is likely that something within your approach is not working.

Identify your most important tasks and priorities each day. Focus on completing high-priority tasks during work hours and avoid getting bogged down by non-essential activities. Delegate tasks when possible to lighten your workload.

Taking care of yourself is a sign of intelligence. If I were to hire someone for my own company/project I would look for intelligent people with enough self-esteem to prioritise themselves. There are a thousand ways of self-care, everyone should research and adopt the one that works for them.

Taking care of your personal relationships, whether with family, friends, partners, communities, pets but also clients, coworkers ... provides the mental stability and shelter we all need. It is likely that if your partner relationship is dysfunctional, you will end up taking your frustration out on your work. Or if you create a bad reputation with a client because of malpractice, this affects your professional self-esteem.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful medicines there is. When you educate your mind and heart to move out of judgement and negativity and give thanks, life changes colour. This involves celebrating achievements, such as ending a bad day at work where you have had bad news in peace and harmony. That is the real achievement.
