This calms the nervous system and grounds you in the present moment, helping you approach decisions more calmly. 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Exercise: Identify five things you see, four you can touch, three you hear, two you smell, and one you taste. Exercise your EQ muscle deeper in times of intense workload by: 1. Study & interrupt the triggers that lead you to feel burnout down the road. ( Eg: Working long hours with no mental breaks. Not being able to ‘turn off’ mentally even as you clock out.) 2. Breathe deeper: Use your smart watches; phone apps to intentionally pause at different times in the day. To do deeper 1-min deep breaths. I notice my shoulders tighten & I tend to shallow breathe when I’m doing intense work. This prompt resets me & interrupts my pattern. 3. Draw healthy boundaries by choosing your energy wisely on relationships that fill your cup. Hit pause on matters that can distract your time or drain your energy with value-less activity.
