A very important point that I'd like to mention here is a phenomenon called "Concept Drift". Let me explain: Over the time, the relationship between your features and target changes. For example, from 2010 - 2020 weather was very strongly linked to tourism in a country. In 2021, the country's economy deteriorated and since then, weather lost its importance in predicting the number of tourists to the country. So, the model you created in 2018 that you trained on data from 2010 to 2018 may have worked well for 2019, as well as 2020. But after that, there happened a "Concept Drift" and your model is no longer reflecting the on ground reality. This is a very important factor, when you are working with real world problems.
