It is key to be clear about the objectives of the service when choosing our supplier; each of the leading suppliers in the market has a particular positioning. The service objectives must be aligned and mapped with the business objectives and we must ensure that these are the objectives that we will set for the supplier when defining the indicators and measuring quality. We often encounter customer-supplier misalignment due to an incorrect definition of objectives. We cannot forget that suppliers work according to how we measure them.

What is the cost of efficiency to you? What is comparatively more important for your business, is it just cost or efficiency to provide better service? Is long term goal/cost saving means anything to you or short term cost saving is matching your business needs? Una práctica comúnmente aceptada, es llevar a cabo durante la fase de Due Dilligence, llevar a cabo una comprensión de las políticas y procedimientos, así como el uso de metodologías agiles utilizadas para el desarrollo, entre otras. Así como las certificaciones (p.ej. ISO 27001, COBIT, PCI DSS, SOC 1, SOC 2, entre otras) a las cuales se ve sometida la entidad, con lo cual se confirmará el compromiso con la calidad y seguridad. No se requiere que una empresa aborde todos los principios, las revisiones pueden limitarse solo a los principios que son relevantes para el servicio tercerizado que se realiza. Ya que puede haber criterios específicos que no son aplicables al servicio por contratar.

Una mejor práctica, es establecer una cláusula de auditoria dentro de los Acuerdos de Niveles de Servicios (SLA′s); a través de la cual se pueda evaluar el Programa de Gestión de Riesgos de forma tal que pueda dar un vistazo a la forma en que se identifican, analiza, gestiona y responde a los riesgos. Del mismo modo analizar los Planes de Continuidad que demuestren como ha dado respuesta a dichos riesgos. Esto, proporcionará evidencia al respecto.
