Use self-reflection to identify patterns behind your decision-making: what triggers hesitation, when you overthink, or avoid choices. Then, set small, clear criteria for decisions, and regularly review your progress. The main point here isn't just about choosing the "best" decision. Many people overthink and stick to what seems like the proper choice. If I notice my decision isn't delivering the desired outcomes, I quickly reassess. The real key is staying agile and adapting when necessary.

One should think, introspect, reflect, discuss, read, survey etc, before making a decision. Once the decision is made, don’t waste time thinking whether it’s right or wrong, only time will say whether a decision turns out favourable or otherwise. So, use your time and energy in making it work.

Decision making is a skill in itself. Some people are born with the power of effective decision making but we can enhance our decision making skill by improving analytical edge in our thinking process. As a human we have a tendency to analyze our past action and then decide our future action based on previous outcome. A great thinker always believe in understanding the pattern of events happening, decision taken based on the environment that is time and cost, then analyse the effectivity of the decision then go ahead with future course of action.

One of the practices I find extremely helpful is identifying triggers in my decision-making process. It’s essential to take the time to reflect on past decisions and consider the specific triggers that influenced my choices. I ask myself whether these decisions originated from a balanced mental space or were driven by emotions such as anger, sadness, or even joy. It's important to recognize that making decisions in a joyful state doesn’t necessarily mean I’m in a balanced place. This reflection involves questioning my emotional state, external pressures, and the values I prioritized at the time. This helps me identify patterns that I may want to change, leading to more intentional and aligned decision-making in the future.

Use a “decision journal.” When you're making a big decision, jot down what your gut feeling is, why you made the choice you made, and what outcome you expect. A few weeks or months later, go back and see if things played out the way you thought. It would be an eye-opener! Sometimes you'll realize you were making decisions based on fear or what you thought others expected, not what you actually believed was the best move.
