Line charts, scatter plots, bar charts, heat maps, tree maps, and box plots are applied in identifying data trends, communicating insights, monitoring models, and improving data quality. Challenges in data visualization include ensuring data quality, managing data overload, balancing aesthetics with accuracy, audience understanding, and requiring technical expertise. However, avoid cluttered visuals misinterpretation, provide axis information, pay attention to colours, and, most importantly, consider the audience and the story the data should convey.

The purpose is to first understand the distribution of data variables and their relationships and sometimes after exploring the dataset through visualisation also known as Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) we can change our objectives and business project understanding because the data shows a different perspective than what we initially might have had about the business.

In my experience, popular python libraries Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn has various modules for data visualisation to create interactive plots. Platforms like Tableau & Power BI provides interactive & user-friendly environment for the plots. Select the most appropriate chart type (bar, line, pie, scatter & heatmaps) based on the requirements, data complexity. Matplotlib provides static, 2D plots, histograms & used in combination with other libraries for more advanced data analysis & visualization tasks. Seaborn built on top of Matplotlib provides higher-level interface for creating attractive & informative statistical graphics. Plotly helps to generate interactive plots that can be embedded in web applications.

Don't reinvent the wheel! There are a lot of great packages that can create amazing AI visualisations pretty much out of the box: - Yellowbrick - Shap - PyLDAVis (Topic Models) - scikit-plot - KeplerGL (Geographic data) And probably a lot more.

You will need to understand the condor of a document object model in HTML and understand a little about CSS, but you'll need a basic understanding of JavaScript and the development environments for Js. You can get a one- month trial of WebStorm or use Chrome's DevTools. Debugging can be difficult with js so you need to make sure you understand how to debug in these environments.

Data visualisation could be a challenging task if you’re not sure of what you want out of the visualisation. You should have a clear understanding of your data and what kind of graphs will work for your data and need. Quality and quantum of data often causes the difficulty in visualising the data as a whole. For example: scatterplots, bar graphs or box plots will help understand the data distribution, which helps you understand the quality of your data. Curse of dimensionality also applicable here. When you have too many variables in the data, it’s important to slice and dice the data to crate multiple graphs to get the overall understanding of the data. It’s always recommended to mask the sensitive data while displaying in the graphs.

Data may contain errors, outliers or inconsistencies that pose serious challenge to visualizations & insights derived from them.
