1 Set clear expectations

The first step to being a good mentee is to communicate openly with your mentor about what you want to learn, how you prefer to work, and what kind of feedback you need. A mentor is not a mind-reader, so you need to be proactive and honest about your strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations. Being a mentee does not mean that you have to wait for your mentor to tell you what to do or how to do it. You should take initiative and responsibility for your own learning and development. Research your brand, industry, and competitors, and share your insights and ideas with your mentor.
