The first step in real estate is to thoroughly understand your market, the cornerstone of success. This enables great service and advice for clients. Some ways you can master this are: -Driving your market for the most accurate data. -Knowing all the owners nearby for updates on development plans, pricing, and how the property is doing. -Analyzing market reports for trends, demand, and inventory within the area. -Connecting with others in the industry at events to learn. -Listening to client feedback for direct market insights.

Angela: I attend networking events and gatherings that I am passionate about. Early in my career I said yes to every event. Now, I am more mindful and protective of my time. I ask myself, will these people lift me up or pull me down? What is the heart and mission behind this group? Is it in alignment with my faith, my beliefs and my passions? Building a network of contacts is crucial in real estate. This includes other real estate agents, brokers, lenders, attorneys, contractors, and potential clients. Attend industry events, join professional associations, and utilize social media to expand your network.

There's a lot of nonsense out there. People will have a couple of buy to let's and become a self-proclaimed expert who will mentor you or launch a course for a mini fortune! Education is vital! But do your due diligence, maybe conduct a training needs analysis on yourself and then you'll know what to fill that knowledge or skills gap with. You can then go into a course knowing what you need to get out of it rather than being bought into a 'get rich quick scheme' and achieving nothing.

This might be controversial but I'm not sure real estate is highly regulated enough, I think more regulation that's governed well will get rid of the cowboys. Coming from a background that was in a tightly regulated industry, I agree it can take an age for innovation where it's too regulated, but it also professionalises the industry.

Interestingly this comes together in the science of Ethical Persuasion. The science of getting what you ask for. It can be used unethical but research shows that is a sure path to long-term disaster. Ethical use of persuasion benefits both sides by being able to identify the facts that matter to a persons decision-making based on their values. By being able to identify those pieces of information, you can be stay ethical and highly effective at the same time. Unethical practices have far more immediate and long-lasting consequences now due to quick and public reporting on your unethical practices on social media.this can destroy personals and company reputations that took years to build.
