As per my software development experience, if you stuck on a bug, do these things : 1) Double check the requirements to make sure it is a actual bug not feature. 2) After confirmation,Reproduce the Bug repetatively and observe the changes on every steps. 3) break the code into sections, and review each part step by step using debugger tools. 4) Know the intution behind every line of code. 5) Do appropriate modifications and test it rigorously 6) Its ok take time, this the process of your growth

It's like solving a puzzle: you gather clues (code, errors), follow the rules (programming languages, principles), and use critical thinking to find a solution. It's essential for making sure your code works well and makes sense.

To find a bug using logical reasoning, follow these steps: 1) Spot the difference between what your code should do and what it actually does. 2) Make an educated guess (hypothesis) about why this is happening, based on clues and your coding knowledge. 3) Test your guess by trying out changes or using tools like debuggers to see if you're right. If yes, fix it. If no, think of a new guess and test again. It's like being a detective in your own code, using logic to track down the bug.

Firstly, analyze the symptoms of the bug and gather relevant information, such as error messages or unexpected behavior. With this data in hand, you can then form hypotheses about the potential causes of the bug based on their understanding of the codebase and system architecture. By tracing the execution flow, examining variable's states, and examining dependencies, you can narrow down the root cause of the bug.

Process of elimination: Sometimes it’s easier to eliminate wrong answers than to find the right one. Process of elimination falls under the category of abductive reasoning. -A particularly useful form of this in debugging is a binary search. The idea is that you run a series of experiments to validate if a bug is caused by a particular piece of code. Keep repeating until you find the source of the bug

I would generally not recommend refactoring as part of a bug fix. If possible, a big fix pr should contain just the minimal fix and an associated unit test that fails on main. Refactoring should ideally be done as a seperate step, aiming to change none of the operational function of the code but merely how it is arranged, to ensure safety in these two steps distinct testing processes are useful.

It can be done very simply. For example, I am trying to find a bug that occurs in a particular file. I can use comments or conditionals to prevent half the file from executing. Can I still reproduce the bug? If so then I know the bug is in the active half file. If not it must be in the inactive half of the file. -Also variation on deductive reasoning, but instead of trying to prove something true, you try to prove the opposite false. -In this case the bug can be easily found.
