I think this is the most important point. As developers we have a tendency to think we can learn languages in a day or two hence we always say we write so many languages just to impress people or land the job. You can never learn a language in a day or week and be able to fill a role and produce quality products, unless if you are that good. Stick to what you know, speak more on what you are confident of and casually mention what you are still not yet confident in.

In an in person (or virtual) coding interview, the interviewer is assessing at least 3 things: - how you go about solving a problem (your thought process) - how you communicate - your solution (including efficiency, corectness, completeness, etc) In order to do well on the first two it is VITAL to talk through your thought process. Do people want to work with you, or are you a robot / jackass? 3. Self clarity. Do you know what you're good at, and can you demonstrate those strengths with compelling stories? One of the biggest mistakes people make in an interview is trying to get the "top score" like it's a test. It's much more effective to see this as the career version of Tinder.
