I suggest that you inform them of the (minimum) standards that your company adheres too! All subcontractor workers on site shall be trained to that standard and have the certificates to prove it!

First of all, refrain from calling anyone, or any organization, a subcontractor. We’re all on the same team. We are trade partners. Get your intros right, and then work your plan. It’s a lot easier to assess safety/field conditions when people feel like they are on the team, and not a ‘sub’, to anything or anyone.
