In my experience, as I started my own company after working 10 yrs for an im/export distributor: 1. Don't burn bridges! (The world is small, your industry even smaller, if appropriate, build rapport with your current employer, be open with your intent. Most will wish you well, and even be supportive.) 2. Be careful of non-competes agreements and non-disclosures, seek advice from an attorney. Be selective on what and with who you share your ideas, because not everyone has your best interests in mind. 3. Do your due-diligence, research the industry, reach out to potential customers and suppliers, get a committment in principle that they will work with you ahead of launch. 4. Go slow, there is no rush, it's a marathon, not a sprint. Gdlck!

I'd like you to reflect on how these skills can be applied to your business. Leverage your industry knowledge and experience to come up with a business idea. Think about the problems you've encountered in your role that you could solve or new opportunities you've identified. Before investing significant resources, conduct market research to validate your idea by understanding the market size, competition, and customer needs. This will help you refine your business idea. Build then a minimum viable product (MVP) to gather feedback.

Utilizing data analytics and customer insights can help you identify unique selling points, tailor your product's features, and refine your messaging for a more compelling value proposition.

Clearly articulate the unique value your product brings to customers. Identify the problem your product solves and how it stands out from existing solutions. Craft a compelling value proposition that resonates with your target audience.

I totally agree with the value proposition and the ingredients in defining this is selling a solution to a problem. This mostly happens through innovative thinking and then acting on those thoughts.

Keep in mind the significance of lean resource management when creating an MVP. Minimize costs and time spent on the MVP while ensuring it still addresses the core needs of the target market.

MVP is not a torn down version of your product but a product that is built using minimum effort and validates your major risks.

Identify the most essential features that solve the core problem for your users. Build a basic version of your product. Please keep it simple, focusing on functionality rather than perfection. Test the MVP with early adopters and gather feedback for improvements.

One thing I've found helpful is working with your local University. They are very keen in assisting with designing and building a MVP. They have the skills and resources to develop the hardware and software for your project.

There is a new term which is the solopreneur, the entrepreneur who needs to know and have some kind of experience in all stages of startups. I would recommend you to do some introspection to know what you are good at and what you can bring to the startup and decide whether to go for the co-founders duo model or the perfect trifecta. - Duo: A sales specialist and a technician. - Trifecta: A sales specialist, a technician and a usability expert.

As a product manager, you likely have strong product development, market analysis, and project management skills. Assess areas where you need improvement, such as financial management, leadership, and engineering. Start building a team that can help you execute your vision. Consider the key roles you need to fill early on. Attend industry events, join professional groups, and leverage social media platforms like LinkedIn to connect with potential co-founders.

Seek co-founders who complement your skills and bring diverse expertise to the team. Look for individuals who share your passion for the product and align with your vision. Build a founding team that is committed, collaborative, and possesses a combination of technical, business, and marketing skills.

Managing people, there are three key questions: How to recruit? How to retain? How to manage when things don't work as planned? 1. Make sure you have the same vision, values and they are autonomus workers 2. Having fun! Also with high salary or equity share options 3. Not going emotional, go the "high road" and try to solve it.

Evaluate different funding options, including bootstrapping, angel investors, venture capital, or crowdfunding. Prepare a compelling pitch and business plan to attract potential investors. Clearly outline your business model, revenue strategy, and growth projections.

So, I am not sure if the above mentioned choronology is the right now. Sometimes situation won't allow you to actually build and validate your idea while working. So, while the above can be done. If you have a want to do build something of your own, it's okay to take a leap of faith and go for it! Just make sure you have enough finances/backing to do so .

Not only for Product manager anyone who wants to startup needs follow these things. But, it's ok if you don't follow it too. The most important thing is to ship fast. If you have an idea and an intuition to launch it. Just launch it, don't have to wait for validating, researching, and all. Just launch it and that will teach you the next steps, follow them along. Just learn the art of acceptance. Accept the feedback, accept the comments, and accept the failure. Work on it, and launch again and again until you achieve the goal you want to achieve. Ship fast. The more you think, more you'll drop the idea.
