The ultimate mistake is to draft an IT technology-driven strategy. Focus on the organization's business strategy, the organization's financials, and the industry context. Understand the organization's strategy, financial and execution cadences. Based on your research, be prepared to discuss how you would work with the business to set IT strategy as function of business strategy, how you would manage the IT services & solutions portfolio (leverage Sales & Operations Planning), financials (forecast, budget, cost reporting), and execution. Describe and discuss the approach, processes, tools you plan to use to achieve strategy execution with outcome capture. It is pivotal to ensure the organization is mature enough to grow into your framework.

Another common mistake you can make is to give vague, rambling, or irrelevant answers to the IT Strategy interview questions. You need to have a clear and logical structure for your responses, using frameworks, models, or methodologies that are appropriate for the situation. You need to prepare not only your answers, but also your resume, your portfolio, your questions, and your attire. You need to review your resume and make sure it is updated, accurate, and relevant for the IT Strategy role. When preparing for the interview think about the following: The moment they interview you, it is not about convincing them, but rather confirming the hiring managers expectations/assumptions about you. In order to manifest that, differentiate you from competitors for the job and show the required persuasiveness ask one question: "What about me/in my CV made you invite me for the interview?" This measure can substantially change your preparation/way of approaching the interview as well as your mindset.

5 Lack of follow-up

A fifth common mistake you can make is to forget or delay your follow-up after the IT Strategy interview. You need to send a thank you note to the interviewer, preferably within 24 hours, expressing your appreciation, reiterating your interest, and highlighting your value proposition for the IT Strategy role. You also need to keep in touch with the interviewer, or the recruiter, until you get a response, and be ready to provide any additional information, references, or samples they may request. You should also reflect on your performance, identify your strengths and weaknesses, and learn from your feedback and experience.

En mi criterio hay que evitar errores como hablar en tecnicismos excesivos sin explicarlos, no demostrar comprensión de la arquitectura de TI de la empresa, no tener el expertis en proyectos anteriores y no mostrar interés en la actualización constante sobre nuevas tecnologías y tendencias en el campo de TI, acompa?ado de una buena implementación y estrategia de negocio.

Cómo en toda negociación. Darle el 20% de credibilidad y el resto en misterio. Recordar que la empresa no es tu empresa. Pues como el mercado suele tratar a la mayoría de empleados. Hay q tener un estrategia de largo plazo para que pueda uno sacarle mejor partido.
