With experience comes arrogance, not to everyone but to many, don't be this person. It shows in your body language, the way you speak and deliver. Be different, Be humble. Be relateable, Be inclusive, Be approachable, Be humble. Humility is the hallmark of a great leader, a good communicator some who takes along everyone with them. Be such a person, and see how people throng to meet you, to listen to you and get inspired by you. They want to learn from yoy, your experiences, your stories and follow in your fiitsteps. All the best.

To strike a balance between humility and expertise in your keynote speech, start with some personal stories that show your journey and struggles, making it easier for the audience to connect with you. Use inclusive language like "we" to create a sense of community and invite engagement. Highlight your credibility by mentioning the people who helped you along the way and share lessons learned from your mistakes. Focus on delivering real value by tailoring your content to what the audience needs and providing practical tips. Keep it authentic and sprinkle in some light humor to keep things relaxed. Encourage questions to make it interactive and wrap up by thanking the audience and reminding them that growth is a continuous journey.

Preparing for a keynote speech requires striking the right balance between humility and expertise to captivate your audience. Start by acknowledging your journey and the lessons you've learned, which creates a connection through authenticity. Sharing your expertise with confidence, but without coming across as boastful, helps you establish credibility while remaining approachable. It's essential to engage your audience by showing that you, too, are continuously learning and growing, just like them. This blend of vulnerability and knowledge not only inspires trust but also allows your message to resonate on a deeper level, making your speech more impactful.

To balance humility and expertise, start by sharing a personal story, anecdote or challenge that shows you’re human and relatable. This helps the audience build an emotional connection with you. Then, share your knowledge confidently, but without making it sound like you know everything - use words like “Here’s what I’ve learned” or “This might help you too.” Give credit to others who inspired or taught you along the way. Speak with kindness and curiosity, making room for questions or new ideas. Never project yourself as a one man show but always make your speech sound inclusive by acknowledging the importance of your audience. When the audience feels both your expertise and humility, they’ll trust you more and stay engaged.

Balancing humility and expertise in a keynote comes down to three things. 1) realizing that I have a lot to learn from every audience. I customize my keynotes and spend a lot of time coming up to speed on client context. If that doesn't keep one humble, little else will. 2) always coming from a place of wanting to serve. Every story, every tool, is firmly anchored in that spirit, which then deeply informs everything that follows. 3) transparency--I share moments where I got things right—and more often, ones where I had to rethink everything. Self-deprecating humor that doesn't burden them (it's not a therapy session!). The less I hustle to prove my expertise, the more present I am: At the end of the day, it’s about creating value for them.
