Honesty is always the best Policy, along with confidence! Be honest about your strengths & weaknesses. Never pretend ..I repeat Never! Conduct a self SWOT Analysis to get a better view of your personality. An excellent resume is just cherry on the cake but when the question is "why should we hire you?", the only answer is "for polishing my strengths & recovering from weaknesses, adding value to the company as well as the given job role!". Explain to the hiring team why you think some aspect is your weakness & show them the eagerness to rectify that weakness like for e.g "..I lack communication skills, getting trained & working in your company will definitely improve my skills, I believe. Hence, the decision!"

I would rather suggest being truthful totally about stating one's weakness even if it directly undermines the core requirements of the job and probably not getting the job than saying the partial truth and not being able to function effectively if employed. Also, as individuals, we should often strive to improve on our weaknesses rather than accepting them.

Many institutions will not ask about "weaknesses"; they understand it is unlikely they will ever get a honest, authentic answer that they can use to judge a candidate. Most employers know what their dealbreakers are, and will ask something more like, "What efforts have you made toward growing your understanding of (insert field here)?" or "How have you learned how to (insert skill set here)?" If asked, I might say, "That's a good question; I want to give a specific response; it may help me if you can share what professional traits you would consider a dealbreaker or a major concern if a candidate didn't present that quality?" If the interviewer cannot answer that question, that's actually a red flag for you about the work environment.
