My advice would be to use CAT (if relevant for the content you're translating), and a good spellcheck/style improver (my favorite is Antidote for French and English), which might spot stuff that you would have missed – or at least, save you some time. For example, it will correct multiple typography errors with just one click! Antidote also has great synonym and cooccurrence dictionaries – but good online or paper dictionaries can work great, too. If you don't use a terminology tool per se, you can always keep an Excel glossary up to date, with terms but also tough phrases, notes, and links.
