Alongwith this , I also think there should be integration test environment where you can test how the dwh behaves when there are external updates eg : source updates . Also having data integration tests helps to understand missing upstreams and downstream which may not be possible to track when so many developers are working simultaneously.

Prevent unauthorised updates to the database. Always review the update access ID's to ensure they have the rights to do so. Ideally a database update happens through either a DBA or a user who has this access or from a program authorised to do it. Check all these channels and ensure they are business relevant.
