If they accepted the drawings then it's ok else ask for drawings for approval purpose. after confirmation on drawings. Ask for quotations, do the comparatives. Selection criteria: - Shortest manufacturing and delivery time - Lowest Cost - Decent payment terms - warranty terms & Insurance - Material Certifications. -Agreed by suppliers on 3rd party inspection. Invited supplier for office visit. Negotiate till the reference target meet. Send final comparatives to management's approvals.

1. Understand the requirement (Get the technicals right with an Engineer or the person with requirement) 2. Study the most common suppliers, check if they have the product, talk to them understand the product more. 3. Research for more suppliers, start writting to them and search through linkedin. 4. Create a summary with strengths and weaknesses of each supplier, it can be the credit terms, lead time, quality, delivery terms, warranty, etc. 5. Create a price comparison. Present it to management. 6. Decide on who to proceed with. Always keep in mind, the cheapest is not the greatest.
