A strong online presence is vital in film production networking. Especially in today’s job market, I look to social media to be of service. It’s the least that I can do, we all were given a break at some point… that is how we all got into the entertainment industry. So why not pay it forward?

For example, posting your latest short film on Instagram could catch the eye of a producer looking for fresh talent. Use hashtags relevant to film production to reach a broader audience and join conversations. So many of my industry connections have been met through social media, be it instagram, facebook, or LinkedIn. Whether they’re a mentor or a future collaboration partner, sending a message to someone whose work you admire or career you strive for can be useful in getting a conversation started in this digital age. I’ve gotten jobs from reaching out on social media, as well as met mentors who offered to meet via Zoom to answer questions about their profession. The internet offers places for us to build connections and communities where we can find friends and colleagues with similar goals and passions in such an easy and fast way.

Circle it back! - Meeting like minded people have always been one of the most effective decisions for my shortfilm. - We were a bunch of strangers before joining the project and now we've come a long way to work on some exciting projects. - networking and building trustworthy relationships is the single most important part of my journey.

Social media is a powerful tool to showcase your skills and share your creative journey. People love seeing talented individuals in action, sharing their experiences and insights.
