The future of medicine lies in multidisciplinary teams: nutritionists, molecular biologists, psychologists, personal trainers, and more. By embracing this broader, curiosity-driven approach, healthcare becomes a space for deeper learning and patient care excellence.

New tech is popping up faster than ever. For physicians, it’s not just about knowing what’s new but understanding how to use it effectively. Whether it’s AI, robotics, or new diagnostic tools, staying tech-savvy is key to providing top-notch care in today’s healthcare landscape.

Undoubtedly we are now seeing unprecedented technological advances. In all the excitement of potential new tech, sometimes the basics are forgotten. While I think adoption of new technologies is paramount to reach the elusive “new frontier”, in medicine it is important to take a step back and critically evaluate any new tech. In early adoption, we should ask “is this a solution to a problem or a solution looking for a problem?” As more data is acquired, we should ask “what does the (unbiased) evidence support?” As time goes on, we can then ask “how do we further improve this technology?” Can it be less expensive? easily accessible? more effective?” Despite any new technologies, remember the importance of evidence based medicine.

The time of "this is how we do it" is over. Your physician should be a disruptive, innovative thinker, drawing from a multidisciplinary integration of robust research across fields—AI, genetics, mental health, neuroscience, ethics, molecular biology, and the humanities. The future of healthcare lies in this kind of holistic, forward-thinking approach, tailored not to predetermined protocols, but to the unique individual in front of us.
