Always be keen to learn, engage with your colleagues, establish rapport, being actively involved in any project that comes along even volunteering for something you are not signed up for, developing new connections with your trust and work ethic within your team.

The connections you make early in your career can last a lifetime. The IT community is deeply interconnected, and I have worked with several individuals at multiple companies. In at least one case, a former co-worker helped me get a job at the company he worked for later on, so engaging your peers and developing a professional network is very important.

Ask your peers questions. They like to tell you what they know. If they see you apply or espouse what they taught you, they will remember you that much more. Just because you think you know something, or have a good idea of how it works, doesn't mean someone can't learn you a thing or two.

Look into people that you work with and ask them what they are extremely good at and how or if it's being utilised in the company. Based on that you are able to gain a better common ground in working towards a broader way of implementing a more diverse way of working.

During my experience in technical support I have learned that curiosity is one of the main virtues of a technician, as reviewing different cases, try different solutions and investigate the underlying problem helps to have a broader view on various incidents. All this is encompassed in the ability to learn continuously, as technicians we should not be afraid to try new cases and try new solutions for recurring situations, likewise collaborate with colleagues in cases that they are attending allows us to learn from external experience to replicate it in individual practice.

If you wish to be successful and expand your network: * Remain humble, engaging and focused. * Ask how you can improve and seek insights from leaders. * Show eagerness and passion to learn and add value. * Use feedback constructively. I found that putting in the work and consistently delivering, creates an automatic network expansion.

Platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and LinkedIn Learning offer courses on various IT and computer repair topics. These can help you stay updated with the latest technologies and techniques.

Like I said in the previous post there are n stupid questions, but there can be too many questions. While they get you knowledge to help with experience, some may find them annoying and a "sign" that you are not right for the job. This may sound counter intuitive but I have seen it happen. It is just another thing to learn on the journey, how much do you need to ask others as apposed to asking Google and groups.

Providing assistance to someone in need not only looks good in the eyes of others, it is also the right thing to do on any occasion.

Attend events and conferences. I've made very good connections by bumping into convention attendees and introducing myself. I've had people give me free training and invitations to work with them on projects.

Research the event, what will you gain by attending and will it be beneficial to your future in the industry? If you deem it so then prepare to ask pertinent questions of the presenters or others attending, knowledge is everywhere if you are willing to find it.

Offer your computer repair skills to non-profits or community organizations. This form of volunteering not only benefits the community but can also expand your network outside of your immediate professional circle. It shows a commitment to using your skills for good and can introduce you to a diverse group of people who might provide unexpected opportunities or valuable connections in the future.

Volunteering as a technical engineer won’t only help to get hands on experience but it will boost your confidence in handling issues. And in volunteering, you learn, implement and meet people too thereby broaden your network and employability.
