The key is always making the team part of solution and understand the roadblocks for them to meet the timelines. Once the roadblocks are addressed and they the leader taking equal accountability and trying to resolve the issues for them, the team is more than willing to understand the situation and adopt to resolve issues based on priority even beyond their normal call of duty. Finally as a leader you should also create space for them and back them up.
