In a team structure, accountability, quality of relationships and degree of inclusion are vital to a shared vision. A manager is vital in shaping team member's sense of inclusion by reviewing their career goals and helping them see opportunities within the team that will help them achieve these goals. At AstraZeneca, my managers set aside time to horizon-scan with me and advise me on activities or initiatives within the company that aligns with my skills and the available resources that helped me drive my own development. I was tasked to deploy my skills to solve program level problems and shared lessons learned with team members. These activities gave me a panoramic view of the whole development program, rather than a study level view.
