Share the same with internal teams periodically to ensure constant improvements are done while being agile. - Set realistic expectations and milestones instead of overcommitting. - Highlight and address risks every week to address any anticipated delays. Keeping them informed helps maintain trust and confidence. - Employ project management tools to keep track of tasks, milestones, and documentation.

Also when communicate, ensure that stakeholders are given adequate time to review, asses and make decisions, so you will be able to have their alignment for next steps of the project. It is important that you understand their cultures and situations before you communicate.

First thing is identify the stakeholders of your project and understand their needs is key here , every stakeholder will have their own frequency and so it's important to understand their needs and we need to tailor our communication in what way they are comfortable Keep update them project status on regular basis so that they are aware of communication Proactively we need to forcast the progress and anticipate upcoming risks and keep them informed with risks and mitigation plans so that they plan accordingly As soon as any milestone is recieved or completion of project goals keep them informed so that they notified with key project information

Tell the truth. Don’t hide schedule slips or shortfalls in execution of epics. Quit coddling team members that are not performing. Communicate constantly.

I had a project that was previously managed by two project managers - unsuccessfully. The main stakeholder was disillusioned and hostile. He was an executive in a corporate insurance company and his expectations and demands were notoriously hard to meet. I had regular one on one meetings with him and discussed scope and progress in a straightforward manner and strived to gain his ongoing acceptance The main challenge was to manage his expectations until we could provide him with actual results. He had no faith in project managers. I gained his respect as I was not willing to simply keep him "happy". He became enthusiastic and positive as he was able to see the benefit of scope control and budget and as a result, meeting deadlines.

Proactively manage surprises. While clear communication and setting realistic expectations are key, there will inevitably be unforeseen challenges. - Identify potential risks early. During the planning stage, brainstorm potential roadblocks and delays. Discuss these with stakeholders and outline mitigation plans. - Communicate proactively. If you see a potential issue brewing, don't wait for it to become a full-blown problem. Inform stakeholders of the situation, the potential impact, and the steps you're taking to address it. - Be prepared to adjust. Sometimes, even the best plans need to change. If a significant issue arises, be prepared to discuss adjustments to the project scope, timeline, or features with stakeholders.

A steering committee of the stakeholders is a great tool to help with this. I present the issues register to them each meeting. Many of the issues require conflict resolution among the stakeholders and this approach lets you keep the monkey on their shoulders for those issues that belong in their domain.

When there are an array of stakeholders in the team, there are bound to be differences among them. What is important is to ensure there are minimal conflicts among the members. To be able to ensure so the PM 1) should ensure open communications among team members 2) should establish a culture based on respect, trust and faith 3) should listen to all inputs from stakeholders 4) should ensure feedback is acted upon and action taken communicated to the stakeholders 5) should establish great rapport among stakeholders via team building exercises, rewards and recognition among others.

Conflict resolution is the key responsibility of the PM. Have a transparent communication between parties and get the consensus from both the parties to resolve the conflict permanently rather than temporary. Have a transparency during communication and faith in the reosurces.

Every viewpoint counts, and truly understanding each perspective is key. We're all in it to find what's best for the project, balancing the positives and negatives. Respectful discussions are fundamental in transforming conflicts into opportunities. Sometimes, the secret is to listen more and speak less.

Analyze the root causes and impacts of the conflicts and issues and use appropriate methods to resolve them. Also document and communicate the resolution and the lessons learned to prevent or minimize future conflicts and issues.

Celebrating Success and Failures are very important part of any project. Team gets motivated when you call out their achievements, however they should be coached in such a way that they learn about the failures and what needs to be improved.

Timely feedback should be encouraged as it motivates team members and brings out positive outcome. Similarly, negative feedback should be taken as a scope for improvement.

Successes can be used to motivate team members and also during conflict resolution to demonstrate benefits of compromise to achieve common goals, and effective supported decision making. Failures can be used to highlight learning and effective negotiation of obstacles in a project. Celebrating both these demonstrates to team members the importance of striving for success but also being able to recognise failure and turn those into positive outcomes and not roadblocks. Celebrating failures particularly encourages a culture where mistakes are addressed and not pushed to the side or ignored. Trust in team work and support is also fostered as a result.

Find somebody else to facilitate your lessons learnt session / retrospective. This means that everybody involved in the project has an opportunity to be involved in the discussion. If you have an agile coach or scrum master in your organisation (or professional network) reach out to them for help and guidance. Part of their role is ensuring ongoing learning from change delivery. Lesson learnt sessions can be either negative or very stale, so work with your facilitator to give them an understanding of the project, stakeholders, and key successes and challenges. This will allow your facilitator to choose exactly the right format to maximise engagement from the group and capture the best lessons and actions from the session.

Retrospective after project closure I personally found very helpful with all stakeholders participation. Things like What was Good, what was Bad, What Could be done to improve, What Should/Must not do etc. gives a perspective of improvement and effective and positive collaboration in future. I believe the only thing which gives directions for betterment is feedback with stakeholders.

Stakeholder management is the key. Some ways to do that are as follows: - clear and unambiguous project scoping - transparent communication on a periodic basis depending on the stakeholder type, internal or external. - conflict resolution across stakeholders - iron out dependencies between deliverables - setup realistic expectation in terms of budget and timeline

Customize how you communicate and involve different groups based on what matters most to them. Spot and deal with risks that could affect how well the project goes or how satisfied stakeholders are. Stay open to adjusting plans based on feedback from stakeholders or changes in what's most important. Keep clear records of choices, deals, and updates to make sure everyone stays on the same page. Set up ways to get regular input so you can catch issues early and make needed fixes.

Things I learnt and implemented in last few years for running a project with multiple stakeholders. - First and foremost is rapo. It’s very important to establish and maintain a good rapo across stakeholders. This is going to take you long way. - Secondly, always commit to what you can achieve and once committed try to over deliver. Always have that buffer. - Go one level down to understand both the stakeholders( requirements side and delivery side ). Don’t commit in silo, let everyone have a voice in the commitment. - Take everyone along and track on regular basis to avoid surprises - Escalate at right time

In my experience, I have noticed that, each stakeholder may have a different pain point, different priority for my project, and sometimes different budget limit (in case of multi-department initiative from client). So, through transparent 1:1 conversation it is important to first understand individual stakeholder's current requirement, and the end goal expected from the project (believe me, for the same project each stakeholder may have different set and level of success criteria). Then, note these down as part your documentation for future reference. Use this knowledge to effectively address as much as possible AND communicate the progress in clear and simple terms to the stakeholders. This transparent way keeps stakeholders happy.

A robust knowledge management, and ensuring that newcomers (even the client stakeholders) are getting into the project, with minimal time & effort. This helps people get involved in the project boosting the collaborative effort.

It is important to find out tools available in the market to run your project, and explore whats working in your project/situation and whats not. Its not one size fits all, but every requirement is different and so as different goals. Keep on reviewing/checking whats working and what improvements can be added.

In my experience, I have always built professional respect and positive relationships with each stakeholder. By understanding their priorities and goals, I have been able to foster better collaboration and resolve conflicts more effectively.
