At the beginning of the project, we need to find out where the data should be taken from and where it should be transfered to. We also need to know what data to transfer, as well as the format. Then we design how to transfer the data, including the security required such as encryption, authentication, and VPN. Are we going to land it as files first or directly inserting into the target database. Then we spend a lot of time building those pipelines. Even when the data mapping is still on going, we need to build those pipelines, get them ready. So when the source-to-target mapping is finally completed, the pipelines are ready for the data to flow.
