For this reason, customer focus is one of the quality principles at the foundation of the ISO 9001 standard. In order to know if customers are satisfied, an organization needs to have a method for obtaining, monitoring, and reviewing this information. Customers feedback are essential to ensure the continual improvement of the operation and it can be achieved through surveys, meetings, official reports and analysis.

The steps can be similar to Deming's cycle on continuous improvement literature: PLAN, DO, CHECK, ACT Checking phase is where you study / evaluate your results and getting the lessons learned, before you do the activity again. Thus, the process & the overall performance can be analysed better and enhanced during the current and/or the next project.
