Real time in the meeting through Teams or a quick call after or email praise all help so it’s immediate. I find with remote it’s harder to remember that thing last week that blurs with 12 other meetings. It’s also good to share specifics/impact rather than bad/good feedback.

Managing a remote team needs thoughtful, caring feedback to help everyone grow. Use video calls to build personal connections and make sure conversations are lively. Present feedback as a joint discussion, encouraging team members to express their views. Include specific examples to clarify your points and recognise individual efforts, showing their importance. Promote a culture of constant improvement by celebrating even small achievements and encouraging ongoing conversations for better understanding. By making feedback feel like a shared adventure, you turn it into a strong tool for team development and creativity. This method builds trust and motivates a dedicated, involved team.

Effective feedback is crucial for the growth & development of remote team members. It's essential to provide specific & timely feedback that focuses on behavior, not personality. Use "I" statements to avoid sounding accusatory, provide constructive criticism using the sandwich technique. Start with a positive comment, address the issue, end with another positive comment. Offer solutions & consider cultural differences when giving feedback. To ensure effective communication, use visual aids such as screenshots or recordings to clarify issues & provide context. Create diagrams or charts to make complex concepts easier to understand. Encourage open communication by creating a safe space & using video calls to see each other's faces.
