While leading a remote team in a project to ensure inclusive decision making I use RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) model. It makes clear how any decisions will be made and who will be conveyed. Tools like confluence makes decision-making democratize where team members can vote or suggest improvements on key decisions. Here the role of leader is reflected upon, as acknowledging contributions publicly and actively check in with quieter team members during discussions ensures every team member feels comfortable. If needed, encourage informal sessions where team members can voice concerns or ideas outside of formal decision-making meetings, fostering a more inclusive culture.

Technology isn't really the issue when it comes to leading a remote project team. Your biggest enemy is time. Bringing everyone together across time zones is difficult, especially when trying to set up a meeting time that works for everyone. The best way to ensure inclusive decision-making with technology is by using email and video meetings in unison. Try to set up meetings that accommodate for the schedules for most of the project team members, especially for key decision-makers. Members who are important but aren't able to attend can still be debriefed on what was discussed and what decisions were made by meeting with them one-on-one and/or sending an email to all of the stakeholders after each meeting summarizing what was discussed.

Once at work, ensuring inclusive decision-making in remote teams is crucial. In my experience, using collaborative tools like Teams and anonymous feedback systems allows all members to contribute, fostering open communication. Additionally, integrating data analysis helps base decisions on objective information, ensuring all perspectives are considered. When applied effectively, technology is essential for creating an inclusive and efficient decision-making process in distributed teams.

Of course, decesion making techniques like Multi voting are used depends on Subject and issues.
