Don't ask for feedback you don't intend to use. Let your employees know how their feedback ranks (i.e. are their opinions equal to market data? greater than? supplemental to?) If you see themes in feedback that are counter to the direction you end up taking, explain why. When people take time to provide feedback they expect that you are sincere in wanting it and you can create a morale problem if they end up feeling that you didn't care after all.
