To balance work and job hunting, set a schedule to dedicate time to your search, focusing on quality over quantity in applications. Prioritize roles aligned with your goals, update your resume and LinkedIn, and leverage networking. Stay organized by tracking applications and managing time effectively to ensure neither your job nor your search suffers.

While I was searching for a job I was working as well and let me tell you that IT WAS HELL!!!?? one thing that helped me is sports and being very punctual with my job search I was writing everything on my excel sheet?? and this is one of the things that I teach jobseekers to do????

I had a conversation with a job seeker this week about this exact topic. Here is my advice: Trying to secure a new job is VERY time consuming, but if you want to land a quality job then you need to invest time - there is no quick fix and luck can only take you so far. I advised to block out time in the evening after work to work on resume writing, studying job descriptions, scrolling LinkedIn to network with relevant hiring managers/teams. Keeping a spreadsheet to log and track potential opportunities is the best way to stay organised. I always ask this question. Would you invest 20 hours per week to securing a job that you will be in for the next 2-10 years? - If the answer is yes, then its worth it. Nothing worth having comes easy.

Balancing work and job hunting is no small feat, but with the right strategies, you can navigate it successfully. I remember when I was searching for my next role while managing a full-time job—it was challenging, but setting clear goals kept me focused and motivated. Allocating specific times each week for job-related tasks created a consistent routine that made the process manageable. Staying organized with tools like spreadsheets or apps helped me track applications and follow-ups efficiently. As Thomas Edison said, 'Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.' Stay persistent, prioritize your well-being, and your dream opportunity will be within reach!

First of all, prioritize self-care to avoid burnout, ensuring you stay motivated and sharp throughout the process. ? Start by setting realistic goals, such as applying to a specific number of roles weekly. ?Use early mornings, lunch breaks, or evenings to network on platforms like LinkedIn, attend virtual events, and explore job boards. ?Optimize your efforts by tailoring resumes and cover letters for targeted opportunities. ?Automate job alerts and track applications with a spreadsheet to stay organized. ?Maintain confidentiality by job searching discreetly and scheduling interviews outside work hours.
