The problem with so much data analysis in this arena is that it doesn’t take into account the different pieces of interconnected equipment at different sites from types of pumps or chillers or air handlers to the types of sensors. And that also must include the ducting and piping and even the infrastructure to the electrical. And then there is the controls. Normalizing and identifying how to equalizing the data collected based on those various interconnections is the first step in comparing site 1 to site 2 to site 3. And the more sites you have the more difficult this gets. I have seen something simple like the difference between flexible ducting against old time tin ducting cause data to be - almost worthless.
