3 Be specific and honest

Whatever format you choose, make sure you use concrete and relevant examples that illustrate your strength and its value to the employer. Avoid vague or generic statements that could apply to anyone, such as “I’m a hard worker” or “I’m a team player”. Instead, show how you have used your strength to achieve a specific goal, overcome a challenge, or improve a situation. Use numbers, facts, or feedback to quantify or qualify your results and show your impact. Be honest and realistic about your strengths and don’t exaggerate or lie about them. Tendemos a ser excesivamente humildes cuando nos hacen una pregunta personal relacionada con las habilidades personales. Hay que tener en cuenta que una entrevista de trabajo es un proceso de venta en el que tú eres el producto y has de ser capaz de convencer a la otra parte que tienes las características adecuadas para desempe?ar el puesto. Es por ello que es necesario orientar la respuesta a las necesidades específicas del puesto de trabajo y hablar sin miedo de las competencias que tenemos que son adecuadas para el puesto de trabajo, argumentándolas siempre de cómo ayudarán a solucionar los problemas de la empresa de modo que el entrevistador pueda percibir el valor que podemos aportar a la organización.
