To show novice real time GIS data feed, one easy way is to use KoboToolbox mobile data collection application designed tool, set to collect points say of boreholes/school points. Set up the form on the mobile devices to send the form automatically once completed, with wifi already activated. Then sit with novice so that they can see as new records/collected data is being added in real times on both the tables and a map on the kobotoolbox account/server.
