I recommend having everything as a PDF so no one has to download your work to read it. I also recommend using the 'open in a new window' option so after someone reads the piece if they close out of it they didn't just lost your entire website. To help your audience navigate this portfolio, have different sections such as writing, social media, etc. If it's a social media role, have screenshots of posts that did well with its analytics.

Too often young writers are so focussed on what they want to express, they forget it is the subject's story we are here to tell. I love listening to people's stories, whether it is the bus ride that made them late, or the nugget of an idea that brought them where they are in the careers, or about the product they want the world to know about. Stories matter and we can only hear and retell them if we listen with true interest.

A lot of interviewees just sit down and answer the questions that are directed towards them by their interviewers. I once attended an interview, that later turned into a conversation with the interviewer because I asked questions. It showed that I was highly interested in the role and I was able to get it.

Re-reading what you've written is so incredibly important. Spellcheck is built in, but you still need to check to see that words are spelled correctly - especially someone's name. Sometimes the word is spelled correctly, but it's not the right word. Checking AP Style, punctuation and grammar are also important as having bad writing affects your reputation. Also recommend having at least one other person read it for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
