Conflicts are not unusual especially working on key initiatives with time pressure and business demands. It is best to take a step back and let everyone take a breather. If the conflict happened at 10AM, set the meeting at 1PM so team members have had some down time and let off the steam. Prior to the meeting, prepare a mental framework to address the issue in a unemotional and logical way. What is the Issue? What do we think is root cause? Do we have a few options on the table? What needs to be communicated back to stakeholders now? It is always a good idea to keep cool and buy some time. Communicating to stakeholders is critical so things don't get out of control. Most important not to get personal or hold grudges. That's a BIG NO !

Everyone appreciates a clear-cut direction that is trackable and owned.

Strengths and Passion go hand in hand with every individual. It is in those lighter moments we can discover our peer strengths and leverage them. Make them champions on their happy path to success. Sometimes psychometry is useful to find the strengths such as Myers Briggs, DISC etc. Many times one can be a mediator and connect multiple teams based on their social and creative talents-while some are best at structured tasks that need deeper research and analysis.

Whatever approach is used to resolve the conflict—mediation, negotiation, or consensus-building—it should try to do it in a way that is equitable and gratifying to all sides. Workshops on conflict resolution conducted by qualified mediators. 3. A "conflict resolution protocol" that describes what should be done in the event of a disagreement.

Conflict resolution needs a cool demeanor and sometimes help from the supervisor or even HR. Remain unemotional and calm. Most conflicts are perception based or miscommunications. These can be resolved closed door 1:1 or in a smaller group. Major issues with code bugs or requirement mis-alignments or infrastructure issues-need cross functional teams to come together and find the issue, root cause, plausible approaches and ETA for the fix. The down times should be communicated to stakeholders asap and keep updated. In parallel open incident to track progress.
